On September 22, 2021, Intuit, a global technology platform that makes TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mint, and Credit Karma, announced the launch of Intuit Ventures, a corporate venture capital program.
According to the press release, the program will primarily invest in series B and C-stage companies that are solving small businesses and consumers’ biggest problems, with areas of interest including fintech, virtual expertise, consumer finance, omni-channel commerce, AI-enabled services and crypto/DeFi.

Operating a venture capital firm will undoubtedly allow Intuit to invest in companies that may not be acquisition candidates but where the company feels they might earn a significant return on their investment. Some of the portfolio companies seem as if they could be future acquisition candidates.
